舞蹈空間舞蹈團
台灣當代舞蹈創新指標團隊『舞蹈空間』，成立於1989年，由第三屆國家文藝獎舞蹈類得主平珩創辦，是少數媒合多元、連線國際的開放式創意製作平台，也是台灣當今兩個職業現代舞團之一。成立至今，巡演分別台灣各地及深入美國、荷蘭、義大利、比利時、瑞士、加拿大、香港、日本及韓國等地，全球展演製作累計約700餘場演出。紐約時報（The New York Times）重要舞蹈評論主筆傑克‧安德森，曾稱述「舞蹈空間是一個舞者訓練精良，演出令人愉悅的團體」。舞團作品形式跨界多元、風格亮眼，尤其自2002年起不斷推陳出新的「東方肢體美學」，以鑽研獨創的柔韌技巧為名，深獲亞洲及歐美舞蹈界的專業肯定及讚許；近年與國際編舞家的精采合作，更獲邀至法國里耳歌劇院、美國舞蹈節及荷蘭等地演出。除了長年經營專業職業舞者的養成與培育，開辦國外演出團隊及專業菁英的工作坊交流，也致力舉辦匯集台灣表演藝術實驗新意的「皇冠藝術節」聯演，與持續主辦及參加各式「校園巡迴系列」、「鄉鎮巡迴」、「地方文化活動」等藝術推廣，團隊全面多變的創作體質，在海內外奠定了舉足輕重的舞蹈個性。
About Dance Forum Taipei
Dance Forum Taipei is the representative of contemporary dance in Taiwan. Through engaging different choreographers, the Company acts as an open forum for these artists to come together to present and to study their ideas first hand.
Led by Ping, Heng as Founder and Wang, Yun-yu as Artistic Adviser, the Company presents performances of commissioned and re-constructed choreographies from different artist of diverse styles, ranging from inventive abstract vignettes to fantastical full-length dance theatre works. It also encourages it dancers to present works of their own.
DFT has made more than 600 performances since its inception in 1989, touring throughout the island of Taiwan as well as abroad to Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Malaysia, and major cities including New York (United state of American), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Bern (Switzerland). In addition to its own productions, DFT also presents Crown Arts Festival in spring every year (until 2011). The Crown Arts Center Theater owned by the Company had been the most creative experimental theater in Taiwan.
Influenced by western modern dance through the years, choreographers in Taiwan work hard to find their own expression and movement vocabulary which shows the different facets of contemporary dance in Taiwan. Dance Forum Taipei acts as nurturing ground for this important development and maybe one of the most exciting sights in Asia in the 21 century.
