［音樂會概述］
有些音樂評論家認為馬勒的交響曲本質就是一首首大型的交響「歌曲」，幾乎每首都與歌曲脫離不了關係。馬勒的第三號交響曲也不例外，在第四、第五樂章中加入了女聲獨唱與合唱，它是馬勒交響曲中最怡然自得的作品之一，彷彿是已經安然於信仰給生命的答案。馬勒寫作這首交響曲時，人在阿爾卑斯山腳下的山莊中，他為了靈感不被打擾，拒絕了所有的訪客。他曾自豪地對唯一的訪客說，「不用看了，我已把山林美景全寫入音樂中。」馬勒認為「人只能以愛來感知上帝。我以天地自然開始，攀升到上帝摯愛之境。」
由曾錄製馬勒交響曲全集，並擅長詮釋後期浪漫派音樂的以色列指揮家伊利亞胡‧殷巴爾帶領臺北市立交響樂團與附設合唱團共同演出馬勒直指心靈深處最純真的大自然。

Some music critics think that Mahler's symphonies are essentially large-scale symphonic songs. Almost every Mahler symphony is ostensibly a song in one form or another, and Symphony No. 3 is no exception. In the fourth and fifth movements he adds an alto solo and chorus vocal parts. The third symphony was one with which Mahler was most pleased and personally proud of. It seems as though he had found that inner peace that comes from solving major life questions. When the composer wrote the work he was living in a mountain village at the foot of the Alps. In order to keep his inspiration from being disturbed, he refused to receive any visitors while composing. When his sole visitor looked up at the alpine vistas around him Mahler proudly told him, "No use looking up there, that’s all been composed by me." Of the last movement, which was originally titled "What love tells me," Mahler told a friend: “I could almost call the movement ‘What God tells me.’ And truly in the sense that God can only be understood as love.” He went on to assert that the entire symphony describes “all stages of evolution in a step-wise ascent. It begins with inanimate nature and ascends to the love of God.”
Israeli conductor Eliahu Inbal, who has recorded all of Mahler's symphonies and is best known for his interpretations of late-Romantic works, will be leading the TSO and the TSO Chorus in this concert, summoning expressions of the purest form of nature from Mahler's soul.

伊利亞胡‧殷巴爾出生於以色列，曾在耶路撒冷音樂學院修習小提琴和作曲，之後獲伯恩斯坦推薦，進入巴黎國立高等舞蹈音樂學院進修，進修期間曾指導殷巴爾的音樂家包括路易斯‧佛瑞斯提葉（指揮）、奧立佛‧梅湘以及娜迪亞‧布朗瑞。當時在荷蘭西爾弗瑟姆的法蘭柯‧費拉拉、以及義大利錫耶那的謝爾蓋‧傑利畢達克，對他的音樂生涯也有深遠的影響。殷巴爾26歲時獲得康泰利國際指揮大賽首獎，從此展開國際音樂生涯，與歐洲、美國、日本和以色列的頂尖樂團合作，也經常在國際音樂節露臉。

Born in Israel, Eliahu Inbal studied violin and composition at the Jerusalem Music Academy before completing his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérier in Paris upon the recommendation of Leonard Bernstein. His teachers there included Louis Fourestier (conducting), Olivier Messiaen, and Nadia Boulanger. His musical development was also heavily influenced by Franco Ferrara, in Hilversum, the Netherlands, and Sergiu Celibidache, in Siena, Italy. Since winning first prize in the Cantelli Conducting Competition at the age of 26, Eliahu Inbal has enjoyed an international career, conducting leading orchestras in Europe, the United States, Japan and Israel and making regular appearances at international festivals.

次女高音翁若珮2005年5月取得美國約翰霍普金斯大學琵琶蒂音樂院碩士文憑。2007年5月赴日本橫須賀參加第十二屆新聲歌唱大賽，榮獲亞洲區優勝。2012年榮獲國立臺北藝術大學頒發傑出校友獎。2014年3月受北京國家大劇院邀請，演出柴可夫斯基歌劇《Eugene Onegin》，飾演Olga。同年七月，受V. Gergiev大師邀請，赴俄羅斯馬林斯基劇院演出，成為首位登上聖彼得堡白晝音樂節的臺灣人。2010年出版個人第一張聖樂專輯《遇見祢》。

Mezzo-soprano, Jo-Pei Weng, received her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in May of 2005. In 2007 Weng was also the voice winner of the 12th New Voice competition (Asia region) in Yokosuka Japan. She was awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award by National Taipei University of Arts in 2012. In March of 2014 Weng was invited to play Olga in a performance of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin at Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts. In July of 2014 renowned conductor and opera director Valery Gergiev invited Weng to perform at the Mariinsky Theatre in Russia, making her the first Taiwanese vocalist to perform in St. Petersburg's Day Music Festival.
