延伸璀璨本土文化.創新民族舞蹈藝術Extend the Bright Local Culture, Create the Folk Choreography
紅瓦民族舞蹈團成立於一九九九年，係由二十餘位舞蹈專業表演者所組成，多數團員皆曾多次受邀至海外演出，八年來，足跡遍及印度、荷蘭、波蘭、德國、以色列、印尼、日本、尼泊爾、美國、加拿大、韓國等國，為民族舞蹈藝術之國際推廣交流，留下深刻璀璨的歷史見證。
在紅瓦的世界裡，沒有任何商業的色彩，因為我們始終懷抱著對表演藝術的熱忱，用我們的真心，真誠奉獻於民族舞蹈。在多年努力之下，紅瓦民族舞蹈團在台灣演出近百場，近兩年獲得台北縣傑出演藝團隊的殊榮，也曾應邀於九十四年瓜地馬拉總統國宴以及九十五年總統府前元旦升旗典禮獻演。這不僅是所有紅瓦藝術工作者的努力，也是台灣對紅瓦的肯定。
Hon Wa Folk Dance Troupe was established in 1999 by more than twenty dance professionals and performers, who have performed in India, Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Israel, Indonesia, Japan, Nepal, America, Canada and Korea for the exchange and promotion of oriental dancing performing arts.
We are mostly creative performers using classical and folk choreography. The commercial purpose does not purely exist in the philosophy of Hon-Wa, the only thing we hold is the sincere and enthusiastic heart for classical and folk dance.
Hon Wa Folk Dance Troupe is an outstanding dance performance group recognized and documented by Taipei county government in 2005 and 2006 in Taiwan. The Hon Wa Folk Dance Troupe has previously been invited to perform at State dinners and national flag raising ceremonies in front of the presidential office building on new year's day. Those honors come from not only the Hon Wa artists’ continuing endeavors, but also the recognition by our mother- land, Taiwan.
紅瓦成立之目的在於發揚延伸我民族舞蹈表演藝術，並培養該領域民族舞蹈新秀．對於未來的規劃，希望能編作更多有關台灣本土之風俗民情的舞蹈藝術．期待您一起來加入推廣本土之民族舞蹈藝術，和我們齊心向前行！
The mission of Hon Wa folk dance troupe is to exalt the art of dance, and to help the new generation of dancers to develop their talents and gifts. For the long-term goals, Hon Wa steps to create more local, traditional, Taiwan-styled dancing arts. We look forward to your support and participation, which makes a big step with us.
紅瓦的含意
Name of Hon Wa
溯古至今『紅色』是最能象徵東方社會的顏色，也因為其顏色鮮艷亮麗，所以只要有關於喜氣、升官、發財，都會用『紅色』來彰顯。
From the ancient time to now, “color of red” is the most significant color in oriental society. When people talk about “passion”, “happiness”, “job promotion” and so on, they think of the bright, red color.
台灣的早期，到處都看得到三合院或四合院的屋頂，都是用『瓦片』來搭建，這些早期的建築，都在我們記憶中。所以我們以紅色以及大家熟悉的瓦片來當作我們的團名--紅瓦。
In Taiwan, the roofs of the traditional houses were always covered by tiles. This kind of early staged construction are always familiar for Taiwanese people. That is the reason we choose this red color and the ancient architectural object-tile as our troupe name, that is, Red Tile -- Hon Wa.
