工藝傳家系列特展 壹

一項工藝的熟成精進，是透過前人不斷嘗試所得的經驗與技術的積累，從中孕育出一族群、一地域的獨特風格；在有了這些深厚的傳統力量加持後，工藝師方能夠製作出成熟優美的工藝作品，傳統工藝除了以實物存在的作品外，更重要的關鍵在於無形、為匠師所承載的技藝與經驗知識。

昔日這些寶貴的技術與知識，主要依賴家族或師徒來傳承延續；其中家族門風更是傳統社會維繫技藝承傳不墜的重要管道，如《荀子》：「工匠之子莫不繼其事。」藉由自小耳濡目染，既是師徒又是親人的緊密關聯，從而奠定了傳統的博大基礎及世代承襲的獨門看家本領。

就讓我們一同來認識這些在臺灣的「工藝世家」故事！

The maturity of certain crafts art requires the improvement from generations to generations by craftspeople through the acumination of experiences and techniques which create the styles of crafts art for certain place and people. The craftspeople incorporate these elements into the aesthetic and mental aspects of the crafts art which is a combination of tangible materials with intangible craftsmanship, experience and knowledge.

In the past, these intangible elements are passed down only through oral education and practice of the mentorship; the family unit has played a key role in the inheritance of the tradition as well as any specific know-how and subtle techniques.
